Career Guidance for Class 11 and 12 Students

What is a career guidance programme?
A career guidance programme helps students explore possible work, compare courses and universities, and plan next steps with parents and schools before a high-stakes application. It is decision support, not a promise of the “right” career, a coaching class, or a university fair.
Why career guidance matters in Class 11 and 12
Indian senior-school students are asked to connect a stream, an entrance exam, a degree title and a life. Those four things are related, but they are not the same. Career guidance is the work of making the relationship visible while there is still time to change direction.
In Delhi NCR, families often compare several kinds of institution at once: public universities, private universities, specialised institutes, and international options. Information exists, but it is fragmented across counselling rooms, WhatsApp forwards, ranking lists and marketing. A programme is useful when it gives students a shared method, not another slogan.
What this is not
Career guidance is easy to confuse with other products. This programme is designed as none of the following.
- A coaching programme for a specific entrance exam
- A university admission fair or lead-generation stall
- A study-abroad sales event
- A one-day motivational seminar
- A guarantee of admission, placement or a particular salary
How the Career & Future Skills Programme approaches guidance
Students practise a six-step method: Explore, Understand, Compare, Decide, Plan and Build. The programme meets them at three stages, one programme day each: EXPLORE (Grade 10 → 11), COMPARE (Grade 11 → 12) and DECIDE (Class 12 → University).
Students join at the stage that fits them. For schools, the programme can run as a three-year partnership, which builds a sustained journey across three academic years; it does not mean each student attends for three years. Parents may attend their child’s primary day, depending on school policy, so families share the same vocabulary.
Career guidance in Delhi NCR
The programme works with schools across Delhi NCR. That region includes Delhi, Gurugram (Gurgaon), Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad. The website does not claim a school-by-school footprint, and it does not claim to serve every school in the region.
Local context matters: multiple boards, dense higher-education markets, and families who may consider both Indian and international pathways. Guidance here should treat studying in India as a full option, not a consolation prize.
Questions people ask
Class 11 still has calendar space. Guidance at this stage is mostly exploration: interests, strengths, possible careers, and how courses map to them, without forcing a single identity.
Class 12 still needs exploration, but the plan has dates. Guidance adds course comparison, university evaluation, exam calendars, cost questions and a 12-month action list. It does not replace a counsellor or an admissions office.
People use both phrases. This programme uses “guidance” to mean structured exploration and decision tools for groups of students, not one-to-one clinical counselling or therapy.
