What should Class 12 students do after the boards conversation starts?
Keep two tracks: the exams you have already chosen, and a decision framework for course and university. Panic narrows options. A written comparison of two or three real pathways usually widens them again.
The Class 12 clock
Applications, entrance tests, portfolios and visa calendars do not wait for perfect self-knowledge. Day 3, DECIDE (Class 12 → University), is designed for that tension: evaluating courses and universities, admissions and applications, scholarships and costs, study-abroad options and a concrete next-step plan.
None of that replaces official exam notifications. Students should confirm dates and eligibility with the bodies that run those exams.
A Class 12 planning checklist
Use this as a list of conversations, not a guarantee.
- Name the careers you are actually comparing, not the ones you feel you should want
- For each career, name one course that could lead there, and one that probably would not
- Score two universities on curriculum, cost, location and support, not logo familiarity
- Write the total cost question your family still has not answered
- List the next three actions that do not depend on a result you do not have yet
Questions people ask
There is no single correct answer. The useful move is to connect a possible career, a course, an institution and a next-step plan, then test that chain against cost, interest and eligibility. Studying in India, studying abroad, skill pathways, public service and entrepreneurship can all be legitimate.
